I honestly don't know anything more specific ... The local artist Berthold Welter calls his sculptures the "Zyklus Raumergreifen" (grasping space cycle). Looks like bacteria or something
The sculptures are in the
Botanical Garden
in Solingen. The local newspaper had written something about it (German):

The sculptures look as if they are combinations of concrete, wood and other various elements. Very creative!
